D A N A M O R E T This little Creole girl LOVES the Blues!
Once upon a time, in a kitchen not so far
away, Dana started out as a dishwasher in a small, but
busy little hot spot called Constable Jack’s. Singing
a Billie Holiday number softly to herself, her Mom
quickly pulled her out and escorted her to the stage
where the house jam band threw a quick version
of “Summertime” together and her world changed
forever. Through out her years at CJ’s, Dana had the honor of singing with such legends as Big Brother and the Holding Company, John Lee Hooker Jr., the Sons of Champlin, Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, Guitar Shorty and Terry Evans, just to name a few. Starting her own band “Moret,” Dana began writing her own songs. This led to her joining the reformed Stoneground in 2003. The opportunity to write songs with one of her idols, Tim Barnes, was a dream come true for her, and now, collaborating with of all of her mentors, begot this year’s – and undeniably the hottest - version of the Blues Rockers. |
